Orchard "Baš-bašča" Breza

Who are we and what are we and what we offer?

The "Baš - Bašča" orchard in Breza is a unique gem in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Located in the Banjevac village, at an altitude of 550 meters, it spans over 100.000 square meters and cultivates and nurtures more than 10,000 apple, pear, plum, cherry, and sour cherry trees, as well as around 4,000 raspberry, blackberry, aronia, jostaberry, and currant bushes, following the latest methods and standards of organic production. In the grassy areas, the finest herbs such as tea, mint, St. John's wort, plantain, self-heal, and many others are cultivated.

The orchard quickly became a tourist destination visited by a significant number of both domestic and foreign tourists.

Through the "Pick It Yourself" system, the plantation managed to attract a large number of visitors. Organic production fairs, as well as media coverage, enabled the plantation to be visited by a considerable number of tourists annually. Visitors have the opportunity to try and purchase all products (Bosnian honey, apple jam, fresh and dried plums, apple and pear compote, natural pressed juices, plum jam, jam made from peeled plums, and other products).

"Baš - Bašča" has significant experience in agrotourism and substantial tourist facilities in the form of accommodations for short-term stays, as well as facilities for relaxation and recreation. The plantation house offers relaxation, a beautiful terrace, and a very nice Bosnian-style gazebo with a magnificent view, all accompanied by Bosnian specialties available upon request.

On the property, there is also a lake with a capacity of 4,000 cubic meters of water, rich in carp fish. Along with fishing gear and a two-person boat and a "šadrvan" - a raft for six people, it provides additional enjoyment for every guest. A children's amusement park has been built for organizing birthday parties for children, expanding the agrotourism capacities.

The primary business activity of "Baš - Bašča" is the processing and preservation of fruits and vegetables using exclusively traditional methods, fruit and stone fruit preservation by freezing, drying, jam production, and cultivation of pome and stone fruits.

Over the past few years, the orchard has been visited by over 5,000 foreign and around 10,000 domestic guests each season, and from their experience, we consider the "Baš - Bašča" orchard to be an excellent place for individual and group visits.
